Parkland Rising is a powerful documentary about the horrific 2018 school shooting in Parkland, FL, and the subsequent wave of student-led activism. The film follows student survivors as they transform themselves from victims to nationally-recognized leaders in a movement against gun violence.
The film premiered in October at the Woodstock Film Festival where it won the audience award for Best Documentary Feature.
According to Katie Couric, one of the film's executive producers, "This film takes people on a journey and helps them understand what it feels like to be on the inside of a movement, spawned by unimaginable tragedy and trauma. It takes time to unfold, and you can’t watch it without becoming emotionally invested."
