From Students to Citizens: We will be showing four short documentary films about our communities. They were created this year by area high school students to examine and address some of the urgent issues of our time. Some of the film makers will be on hand to discuss their projects.
The four videos are: Sexual Assault On College Campuses Produced by Housatonic Valley Regional High School it explores the handling of rape and sexual assaults on college campuses by both students and officials. Guns Under Our Noses Produced by The Marvelwood School in Kent it asks “Is gun control a local issue?” Downtown or Ghost Town Produced by students at Torrington High School it examines the depression and changing face of a once vibrant manufacturing city. Food For Thought Produced by students at Torrington High School it examines the issue of healthy food served in school cafeterias and why students find it so unappetizing.
